Guest Curator Zahid Sardar in Conversation with Dutch Designers

Museum of Craft and Design
2569 3rd St, San Francisco, CA, United States

0 Comments on this event

On May 9 the Museum of Craft and Design presents new Dutch Design at the Confluence of Technology & Craft.

Guest-curated by design editor and author, Zahid Sardar, Hands Off focuses on a broad spectrum of Dutch design, all of which use technology, in particular digital technology, in such a way that the craftsman works remotely, or hands-off, to create objects, environments, and experiences.

Featuring the work of approximately 20 designers from design hubs across the Netherlands including Eindhoven, Amsterdam and Utrecht, Hands Off showcases the development of innovative production materials, the reinterpretation of old technologies, and new ways leading Dutch designers are influencing and interacting with the world of craft and design.

Speaker Series 2:00pm - 3:30pm

You can explore Hands Off's innovative works, see first-hand dynamic in-gallery demonstrations, and hear engaging conversations between guest curator, Zahid Sardar and a panel of renowned designers Marcel Wanders, Jòlan van der Wiel and Dutch Design Week Director Martijn Paulen on May 9 at 2 p.m. in the Museum of Craft and Design, San Fransisco.
