Chamber, a new boutique of limited edition design, objects and art, opened in September 2014 in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. The space's unique concept and retail experience is the vision of Argentinian-born Founder Juan Garcia Mosqueda. Critically acclaimed architectural practice MOS designed the interior of the space, which is located underneath the High Line in the HL23 building, designed by Neil Denari, at 515 West 23rd Street.

Taking the Renaissance-era Cabinet of Curiosities as its inspiration, Chamber is a twenty-first century reliquary for unusual objects and a platform for design experimentation. Every year, Garcia Mosqueda will choose a different designer or creative to curate the shop's entire program, bringing their unique viewpoint to Chamber through specially commissioned works, and rare and vintage items. For the inaugural curatorial period, he selected Dutch-Belgian designers Studio Job (Job Smeets & Nynke Tynagel), who are working closely with a dynamic group of established and emerging designers and artists to create an ongoing program for Chamber.

There are 100 objects in Collection #1, which are rotated in a constantly changing display. Currently there is a wide variety of Dutch design work on view, including work by Maarten Baas, Aldo Bakker, Julian Bedel + Studio Job, Chateau d'Yquem + Studio Job, De Stijl, Richard Hutten, Maharam + Studio Job, Jelle Mastenbroek, Studio Job, Dirk Vander Kooij, and Floris Wubben.

Collection #1 curated by Studio Job will be on view until September 2015. During NYCxDESIGN 2015 (May 9-19), Chamber will also open its Capsule #2 exhibition "This Is Not A Duet," featuring works by Gala Fernandez Montero and Sung Jang, curated by Maria Cristina Didero and Juan Garcia Mosqueda. This exhibition will be on view from May 15 until July 3, 2015.
