0 Comments on this event

“Si Può?” is a festive monument celebrating fifty years of Dutch National Opera. The book includes never-before published photos and behind the scenes stories.

Si Può?

These two words open Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” and invite us to watch its plot unfold. This festive book offers a rich overview of the history, world premières, stunning productions, and international successes of 50 years of Dutch National Opera. Within the pages of this strikingly illustrated book, DNO Director Pierre Audi teamed up with prominent designer Irma Boom to combine images from 50 years of productions alongside expert texts that place DNO in the broader perspective of the history of opera in the Netherlands, with special attention paid to the opera building, world premières, highlights, and international significance of DNO in the world of opera.

The book is published by nai010 publishers and was first released on 6 November, 2015. The first copy was given to Princess Beatrix. End February, 2016, the book will be available in the US.
