From May 14 until May 17, five Dutch design firms are represented at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City. From wall paper covers to wooden tiles, from ingenious objects to technological gems, Piet Boon Collection, Stefan Hengst, Kikkerland, NLXL, and Plexwood will exhibit their finest objects on this platform for global design.
Piet Boon Collection will make its debut at the ICFF high-end luxury furniture fair. In collaboration with New York based Piet Boon Collection retailer LEPERE, they will present our extraordinary contrasting renewed Collection. Fresh from Milan the new pieces; BO Sofa, RAAF table, coffee table and chair as well as KEKKE mirror, reflect Piet Boon's effort of pushing the boundaries of their creative signature. In line with their multidisciplinary philosophy of functionality, aesthetics and individuality, this year’s collection is even more rich in simplicity than previous editions. By playing with proportions, contrasts, color variations and textures in both execution as well as presentation, Piet Boon managed to add an extra dimension to the collection.
As a graphic designer and artist, Stefan Hengst is drawn to architectural motifs and urban landscapes that invite in nature to create warmth and history while leaving behind a personal imprint. The images work in tandem with the surface or objects that they cover — ceramics, glassware, furniture and textiles for now — but it’s the possibilities of the materials that leads him in new creative directions. "Noblesse" is a luxury wall covering collection drawing on the refined opulence of the Louis XVI style, as well as the more neoclassical architectural forms and decorative of the directoire style. The wall covering will be available in the "Dentelle de Marbre," "Feuille d'Or," "Roie de Soleil" and "Jardin Royal" series.
