Brand van Egmond opens first US Showroom in San Francisco

Connoisseurs of sculptural lighting can experience the full splendor of Brand van Egmond’s collections on display now in the San Francisco Design Center. Following other cities in Europe and Asia, San Francisco now also has a dedicated Brand van Egmond showroom where both professionals and others interested in design can see a combination of new and established collections – handcrafted to last for generations – on display. The Netherlands based firm was founded in 1989 – and celebrates their 30-year existence this year – and exports by now to over 90 countries.

Brand van Egmond has been responsible for several unique lighting installations throughout the US: the atelier’s first major installation was the Green Room for the Academy Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles. The spinoff of this unique location and exceptional guests propelled the brand forward. Since then the eclectic styles of the Netherlands based atelier have resonated in numerous beautiful spaces. Besides numerous residences across the country, also other leading brands applied the characterful lighting to their spaces: Louis Vuitton boutique’s in NYC and Las Vegas carry lighting sculptures tailor-made for their spaces, but also jeweler Chopard in Miami and Houston. Hotels like the Gansevoort in NYC and The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas have been lit by their handwork, but also Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC. The work of founder William Brand – a graduate from the School of Arts in Utrecht, The Netherlands – has also been shown at the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, Georgia.

The San Francisco Design Center itself lays in the heart of the Bay Area’s design & innovation area and is surrounded by pioneering technology firms, world-class museums, and ground-breaking design and architecture companies. Therefore, this Brand van Egmond showroom will be a well-placed location to connect and inspire, in particular with architects and interior designers. The mono-brand boutique is designed under the vision of Brand van Egmond’s founder William Brand, who has worked through the years as an architect, designer, and artist. A minimalistic black and white interior that intersects with the city’s innovative atmosphere and its history, with a selection of new and established collections on display.

The showroom allows for guests to be inspired by the depth of the collections, and at the same time receive advice on the wide-ranging possibilities. Brand van Egmond is unique in its unrivaled capacity to customize and translate personal wishes into handcrafted reality.
