Grandpa Death Experience

The band itself is the vehicle for Canadian-born singer, guitarist, songwriter and producer Ron Goudie. Goudie’s story in rock’n’roll began in the late 1970’s in Southern California as a member of seminal hardcore band Modern Warfare. The band’s own imprint Bemisbrain Records served as the springboard for Goudie’s career in music which saw him become one of the founders of Enigma Records, a transformative label in the American music business. Along the way he signed and produced Stryper (the first mainstream Christian metal band) and signed, produced, engineered or mixed everyone from Poison, Agent Orange, T.S.O.L., GWAR, Flaming Lips and Death Angel to Mojo Nixon & The Skid Roper, in addition to holding executive positions at various labels.

Goudie eventually landed broke and broken in Amsterdam in the late ’90’s and over the past four or five years has slowly put together the Grandpa Death Experience with chief co-conspirator drummer/multi-instrumentalist Carlos Manso. The bittersweet and often humorous lyrics trace Goudie’s struggles with substances and relationships.

Michael Prins

Classic songwriting is what drives singer-songwriter Michael Prins. The old masters of the craft weren’t known for being fussy. John Lennon and Joni Mitchell – and later men such as Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley – were never ones to shy away from saying it as it was. If they were in love, they would sing about it. If they needed violins with that, so be it, but without burying it in the mix. ‘They were so clear and their songs so beautiful. They weren’t scared of that, to touch upon a simple emotion.’ Says Prins. And exactly that is what he has done on his second album, A Dreamer’s Dream Is Forever To Be Yours, his second album after Rivertown Fairytales in 2013.

MICH

MICH (pronounce: [mɪç]) is a band from Amsterdam. Mich stands for ‘me’ or ‘myself’ in German and ‘housefly’ in Frisian. Music written by Piet Parra, lyrics by Baby Bosma, produced by Rimer London. All songs recorded, looped and messed with in Amsterdam, Netherlands 2016.

St. Tropez

Four guys making yachtpunk in a former gay sauna by the canals of Amsterdam.

After the release of their debut album (mixed by Grammy Award winning producer Rob Schnapf: Beck, Fidlar, The Garden, Kurt Vile) last summer St. Tropez continued to build their fierce live reputation with shows throughout Europe.

With online coverage on DIY, The Music Ninja, NME, and airplay on stations like BBC1, BBC6, XRADIO and Virgin Radio St. Tropez is now ready to take their first steps in the US.

Drive Like Maria

credit: Peter van Hal

Having arrived on the music scene back in 2009, Drive like Maria has gained a reputation as one of the best live bands in their home region. Their debut, ‘Elmwood’, was released in 2009 and things evolved extremely fast for the young band. Their first single ‘I’m On A Train’ got into rotation on national Dutch radio. The band’s tours were sold out and they performed at many of the major festivals in The Netherlands & Belgium (Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Appelpop, Zwarte Cross, Bospop, Marktrock etc.), opening for bands like AC/DC (Amsterdam Arena), ZZ Top (Forest National) & Motorhead, SXSW and NXNE. “Drive like Maria” followed in 2012 and the live album “Howl” in 2013.

The formation, now consists of three core members, Bjorn Awouters, Nitzan Hoffmann & Bram van den Berg joined live by bass player Maarten van Damme and keyboardplayer/singer Tamara van Esch. The band transcends itself on their new triptych ‘Creator Preserver Destroyer’ (Caroline/Universal) which once again features a fine collection of quirky songs and guaranteed guitar violence. New tours in Europe & the USA are being planned at this moment.

Klyne

Klyne is a Dutch pop duo formed by singer Nick Klein and producer Ferdous Dehzad. Originally they called themselves Nick Klein, but the name caused confusion to its audience. From 2015 they are a well-known band Klyne.
