This results in lyrical, organic sounding music.Van Dijk initially moved to New York in 2011 to pursue a master’s degree at New York University (NYU) for which she was awarded a full scholarship. She manages to build an audience in New York, with a performance at the famed Blue Note jazz club as one of its highlights. Aside from many performances in Brooklyn and Manhattan, she is an integral part of an improv dance group and she is part of the BMI jazz composers workshop. During her time at NYU, she studied filmscoring, avant garde jazz, modern classical and of course, modern jazz music.
