A Modern Vision: European Masterworks at the North Carolina Museum of Art

The North Carolina Museum of Art opened the exhibition A Modern Vision: European Masterworks. The installation showcases 50 paintings by iconic masters of European modernism including Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, and Paul Cézanne from the world-renowned Phillips Collection.

About the Philips Collection


Founded by art collector and philanthropist Duncan Phillips in 1921, The Phillips Collection has been collecting modern and contemporary art for one hundred years. Duncan Phillips’s former home—and additions to it—in Washington’s historic Dupont Circle neighborhood provides a unique setting for the growing collection of over 5,000 works. The Philips Collections now provided works to be featured in A Modern Vision: European Masterworks.
