Amsterdam Art Weekend Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the New York Foundation for the Arts
On September 9, Amsterdam Art Weekend signed a memorandum of understanding with the New York Foundation for the Arts during the cultural mission from Amsterdam to New York.
Amsterdam Art acts as the hub in a network of renowned Amsterdam-based institutions for the arts. The foundation serves as a portal to this extensive urban network to art institutions all across the globe. Amsterdam Art Weekend continually keeps an eye out for new opportunities, responding to these by initiating collaborative projects and acting as an intermediary.
During this unique mission, Amsterdam Art Weekend signed a memorandum of understanding with the New York Foundation for the Arts in the presence of Kajsa Ollongren, Deputy Mayor of the City of Amsterdam. This agreement creates a perfect opportunity for Amsterdam Art Weekend to showcase its ambition to achieve a broader field of collaboration between Amsterdam galleries and institutes and renowned international arts institutes.
The collaboration with the New York Foundation for the Arts will be made public in part during the 2016 edition of the Amsterdam Art Weekend (24-27 November) where it will, at the initiative of Amsterdam Art Weekend, enter into a partnership with Museum van Loon, the Oude Kerk, Castrum Peregrini and the Frans Hals Museum in a programme focusing on the theme of ‘Transhistorical Curating’.
