“Collaboration” is a buzzword in design these days, and for good reason, as the coming together of two designers can create a powerful synergy, allowing each to leverage the other’s unique expertise and reach new audiences.
Seletti’s newest collaboration with Studio Job, the “Industry Collection” of outdoor furniture, highlights the power of collaborative design, combining Seletti’s aesthetic and significant manufacturing and production capabilities with Studio Job’s edgy re-interpretation of the retro garden set with gas masks, butterflies and other graphics taken from Studio Job’s archives.

“X Marks The Spot: The Power of Collaborative Design” – BEAM. Brooklyn, NY.
Since 2000, Smeets and Tynagel have developed a distinctive body of highly expressive and opulent work that incorporates pattern, ornament, irony, monumentality, and provocation, as well as personal, historic, and sociocultural narrative. Their commitment to craftsmanship reflects an ongoing interest in the revival of traditional applied-arts practices, such as bronze casting, gilding, marquetry, stained glass, and faience, but with a contemporary perspective. The atelier operates in the manner of a traditional Old Master studio, engaging the skills of the most talented artisans in the production of their work.
Ever since it was established in 1964, Seletti has pursued its mission of making the most of professionalism, service and above all an endless product research, striving for improvement, innovation and originality. Today the company further focuses on design projects and on the creativity which characterizes the Italian excellence. Today the personality of the brand is synonymous of value, movement, provocation, innovation, originality. It is art blended with daily life icons, objects that send to a message of shape, function and the possibility to create a unique, personal, fun life style to the end users.
Since 2013, BEAM has made it their mission to connect their design-savvy customers to a curated selection of the newest and most brilliant home goods and accessories. They offer everything from simple ideas and suggestions to full-service interior design consultation as an affordable luxury. BEAM’s relationships are also why their vendors offer them a variety of new products first. They get to know the designers, what makes them tick, and what might be the next creation on their horizon. Most of all, BEAM loves to bridge these two communities with “Meet-the-Maker” events.
