From December 4-7, 2013, celebrate the best of Dutch design with a daily free Dutch style breakfast at Genius Jones from 9-11am, featuring the Andy Warhol + Bugaboo The Happy Bugs Collection.
The Happy Bugs Collection
Happy Bug Day is one of Warhol’s earlier art pieces (1954) and relates to both children and parents. This lively, colorful print is available as a Bugaboo Tailored Fabric Set for the Bugaboo Cameleon3 and the Bugaboo Donkey, and as a Bugaboo Sun Canopy for the Bugaboo Bee and the Bugaboo Donkey duo extension set. Featuring a dark grey background color, the sun canopies are double printed giving the inside a happy bug print as well. The collection includes a unique Bugaboo Bee Baby Cocoon and Bugaboo Footmuff highlighting a few fun and happy Warhol bugs on a white background. Starting November 2013, the “Happy Bugs” collection is available in-store worldwide.
Andy Warhol Foundation collaboration with Bugaboo
Andy Warhol’s innovative approach to art proved an inspiration for us, as we are driven by a passion for innovation. The collaboration celebrates the artist’s love for children’s inquisitive and creative minds, and his ability to create timeless work that transcends any age or time period. Bugaboo is working with The Andy Warhol Foundation on several collections (to be) launched during this collaboration. To many, Andy Warhol is the personification of charisma, and to most, he is one of the world’s leading influential figures in contemporary art and culture. More than twenty-five years after his death, Andy Warhol’s life and work continues to excite creative thinkers worldwide. The App: Enter the whimsical world of Andy Warhol!
A cheerful app is born through the collaboration between the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and Bugaboo. The app is an interactive adaptation of Andy Warhol’s So Many Stars board book and invites children to discover what happens inside of the “So” animations. That discovery starts when touching objects on the different pages, like making dogs grow, eating spaghetti and letting fish jump out of the water. There’s no right or wrong, it’s purely about discovering Andy Warhol’s world in a playful graphical way. Available in the App Store for 2.69 Euro. Revenue generated by the sale of the app will contribute generously to The Andy Warhol Foundation’s endowment from which it distributes grants in support of contemporary art.
