Drawing Salon Workshop: Dutch Seascapes

From January 13 until February 12, the National Gallery of Art organizes a Drawing Salon Workshop on Dutch Seascapes

Fri, Jan 13 - Sun, Feb 12  2017

From January 13 until February 12, the National Gallery of Art will organize a Drawing Salon Workshop on Dutch Seascapes. On January 13, 14, 15, and 28, and on February 4, 5, 11, and 12, participants will dive into the sublime maritime scenes painted by seventeenth-century Dutch masters. The group will visit paintings from the permanent collection in Gallery 49, by Dutch Old Masters such as Albert Cuyp, Ludolf Backhuysen, and Jan van Goyen.

The Drawing Workshops invite interested visitors to join experts for sketching and conversation in the galleries. Led by practicing artists and museum educators, this series of workshops integrates art history and studio art practices. The workshops are designed for all skill levels; beginning and advanced participants are welcome, as long as they are 18 years old or over.

This program is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required due to limited space. Registration will begin at noon on Tuesday, January 10,  and the workshops do tend to fill quickly, so make sure to do it early through this link. All drawing materials are provided.
