Dutch fashion innovators are coming to NY Fashion Week

Fashion designers and incubators from The Netherlands will come to the NY Fashion Week to present the latest developments of Dutch eco fashion. Worldwide we are running out of natural resources and also the fashion industry has a huge impact on the environment. Dutch innovators are solving this problem by using new innovative ways to design fashion. On September 9, citizenM Hotel will host a special Green Drinks NYC event where New Yorkers can learn about incredible innovative fashion alternatives from the Netherlands. Like design bags made of used conveyor belts and jeans that you can lease.

The evening will include product presentations and talks by some of the Netherlands’ leading eco-fashion companies, including Bert van Son, founder of the Lease A Jeans concept – a company that focuses on the circular economy by offering jeans that you can lease. People wear the jeans but they don’t need to own the product. After the lease period users return their jeans to Lease A Jeans for recycling. Jan Geerts, founder of the new fashion incubator Dutch Fashion Link – will also be guest speaker. This company makes fashion honest and local by offering a wide range of sustainable fabrics and knowledge to help designers make fashionable clothes.

In addition this Dutch eco fashion event will present several fashion accessories, like the sustainable water bottles of Dopper.
