Building Fictions (BF) is an Amsterdam-based publishing imprint exploring ‘building’ as a methodology. Through collaborative work, BF investigates the potential of storytelling within projects at the intersection of art, design, architecture, and literature.
The Disengineering Society is a hardware hacking collective and a publisher of educational materials. Their textbooks reimagine educational literature through idiosyncratic construction and site-specific applications. Disengineering’s publications go hand-in-hand with their widely offered hardware-hacking workshops that emphasize chaos, destruction, electronic screeches, and a devout commitment to combating “planned obsolescence.”
Knust’s graphic workspace and shop is located in the artist-run organization Extrapool in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Knust is highly specialized in stencil printing which started in 1984 with Roneo’s, and nowadays a A3/A2 riso with over forty colors and binding facilities. We print with graphic artists in residency, DIY and commissioned.
Roots to Fruits is an independent publisher and seasonal magazine dedicated to exploring decolonial sounds. Based in Amsterdam since 2019, it facilitates intergenerational and decolonial dialogue by publishing overlooked archival material, making unknown works available to new and expanded audiences.
Creatively applying the cultural politics of content, form, and style whilst critically dissecting these to spark literacy, Set Margins’ publications enforces the voices of marginalized cultural agendas.
SM books makes publications that attempt to stand for themselves, creating paper worlds that draw viewers-readers into new ways of experiencing print media. Self-Made is one of multiple readings the acronym allows. SM books is the publishing project of Robin Waart.

Werkplaats Typografie is a graphic design masters program centred on assignments and self-initiated projects with lectures, meetings, and readings geared towards self-accountable and independently motivated work and research. WT publishes and distributes outcomes by participants through various channels including international book fairs, presentations, and book launches, as well as their website.
