Head of Collections of the Mauritshuis in The Hague, Edwin Buijsen, will lecture about the traveling paintings of Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Hals: “Masterpieces of Dutch Painting of the Mauritshuis”, November 5 at The Netherland Club in New York. During the renovation of the Mauritshuis, 15 of their masterpieces will end their world tour in The Frick Collection, New York City.
Edwin Buijsen studied Art History at Leiden University in the Netherlands. In 2008 he was appointed Head of the Collections Department at the Mauritshuis in The Hague. His department is responsible for the optimal preservation and management of the museums collection, the art historical and technical research on works in the collection, and the compilation and organization of exhibitions.
