From December 2-7, 2014 S Artspace Gallery will present a solo show by Elisa Lejuez at the Red Dot Art Fair
From December 2-7, 2014 the S Artspace Gallery, in coordination with the Latin American Art Foundation of Miami, proudly presents the latest works of Caribbean artist Elisa Lejuez. Self-titled; Neo-Natives will be on view in the Latin American Art Pavilion, located in the Red Dot Building opposite Art Miami.
Elisa Lejuez-Peters, born April 15th 1973 from a Curacao mother and Dutch father was raised in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. From an early age on she expressed her sensitive observations in numerous sketches and drawings. With this sensitiveness she developed a great instinct for colors and shapes.
In 1991 she started studying at the University of Fine Arts in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Her student days were colored by inspiration and a drive for success. Elisa graduated in 1996 and a year later she did a specialization in Arts at the Post University of Fine Arts in Arnhem. In 1998 Elisa got her Masters Degree in Arts.
In the following years her studies paid off being a textile designer for several Dutch textile companies. This gave Elisa the opportunity to travel to Asia occasionally. Working as a textile designer Elisa gained a precious amount of impressions that became the foundation of her artist life.
