Sat, Sep 24 - Sat, Sep 24  2022

MET MES – Sam de Jong
Rockaway Film Festival, New York
Sept. 24, 7 p.m. at Arverne Cinema. TICKETS

Director Sam de Jong’s film Met Mes screens at New York’s Rockaway Film Festival. After the screening, there will be a Q&A.

About the Film
In a supersaturated, pastelle-tinted world, a TV show host sets out to make a “a warm, endearing portrait of society” on her 90s VHS camcorder and ends up framing an innocent kid for armed robbery. Met Mes is a synthetic satire that points to broken police systems, performative morality, and the consequences of not being believed. The film features Dutch actors Hadewych Minis (Borgman) and Gijs Naber (Black Book). Met Mes was nominated for a ‘Tiger Award’ at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and ‘Best International Feature Film’ at Guanajuato International Film Festival.
