On Monday March 3, auditions for the 10th edition of the Franz Liszt Competition will take place in New York at the Yamaha Artists Services, Inc. From 11 am onwards the auditions will start. A great opportunity to discover new international piano talents. Entry is free.
The Liszt Competition is known as one of the most prestigious piano competitions worldwide and is also known for the thorough and professional support it offers its laureates. Since 1986, the Competition is being held every three years in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Application is open to pianists between 17 and 29 years of age and the Competition is entirely devoted to piano works by composer Franz Liszt. In addition to more than € 50,000 of prize money, the Liszt Competition represents all its Prize Winners for a period of nearly three years, as part of an extensive Career Development Programme. This personalised programme includes a national and international tour as well as a CD release. This exclusive approach, its extensive career coaching as well as the many international concert engagements for the Prize Winners have given the Liszt Competition a unique character. Among past Prize Winners are: Martyn van den Hoek (1986), Enrico Pace, Wibi Soerjadi (1989), Igor Roma (1996), Jean Dubé (2002), Yingdi Sun (2005), Nino Gvetadze (2008) and Masataka Goto (2011).
The 10th edition of the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition will be held from 26 October to 8 November 2014 at the brand new TivoliVredenburg in the city centre of Utrecht.
