‘Full Throttle III – End Times’ screens at Anthology Film Archives

On January 7, ‘Full Throttle III – End Times’ screens at Anthology Film Archives

Sat, Jan 7 - Sat, Jan 7  2017

On January 7 (6:00-7:00 PM), Renger van den Heuvel‘s film ‘Full Throttle III – End Times’ screens at Anthology Film Archives in New York. This road movie shows a poetic portrait of Dutch cult writer Geerten Meijsing, who is also the translator of William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac among others. The film was shot on super 16mm with a Bolex on location in Calabria and on Sicily. The writer travels in his own footsteps, and those of ancient Greek and almost forgotten British writers. It shows landscape tones and the writer behind the wheel of his Citroën CX Prestige. His muse at the gas station is portrayed by Italian actress Loredana Cannata.

The film will screen as part of the ‘New Filmmakers Program’ at Anthology Film Archives. Composer Johan Hoogewijs, sound designer Lawrence Horne, Paul Krimmer (DOP), and director Renger van den Heuvel will all be present as part of the crew from 05:30 PM onwards at a reception for interested visitors.
