Floriade 2012

The sixth FLoriade, from April 5 until October 7, was held in Venlo. The Floriade Park was 66 hectares in size and consisted of 5 unique themed worlds: Relax & Heal, Green Engine, Education & Innovation, Environment, and World Show Stage. Each world had its own décor, program, and activities.

The central theme of the Floriade was “Green Emotion,” based on the idea that flowers and plants have the power to convey emotions, to bring atmosphere to homes, and happiness to lives. Part of this “Green Emotion” was a daily changing exposition of large floral installations on mobile platforms created with seasonal plants and flowers.

The book “Green Emotion: Dutch Floristry at the Floriade” is a compilation of these original designs and of the other most astonishing designs shown.
