Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, will present the symposium “New Netherland, New Amsterdam: A Celebration of Dutch Heritage and Transatlantic Exchange” on October 24th.
The symposium marks the 25th anniversary of the university’s oldest international student exchange program with the University of Amsterdam. The symposium will serve to review, renew, and broaden the understanding of their own Dutch heritage and identity, and rising profile in national and international contexts. The symposium includes a keynote address and book signing by Russel Shorto and a special address by Tweed Roosevelt.
