At Aqua Art Miami from December 3-7, Industry Gallery presents work by Fransje Killaars, Tanja Smeets, and Remy&Veenhuizen a.o. at Aqua Art Miami

Wed, Dec 3 - Sun, Dec 7  2014

At Aqua Art Miami from December 3-7, 2014, Industry Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition “Through the Looking Glass: An Immersive Design Installation” at Aqua Art Miami, Penthouse Suite. Included in the presentation are Matthias Bengtsson, Benjami Rollins Caldwell, Daniel Widrig, Maarten de Ceulaer, Francis Bitonti, Jens Praet, Tobias Klein, Lanzavecchia + Wai, Elena Manferdini, Geoff Mann, Benjamin Muzzin, Oyler Wu Collaborative, and Dutch artists and designers Fransje Killaars, Remy&Veenhuizen, and Tanja Smeets.

Tejo Remy works as a product, interior and public space designer together with Rene Veenhuizen in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Considering “everything as material,” Remy and Veenhuizen incorporate existing information, circumstances, or found goods into new situations, often bringing in more social contact or, telling the story of a particular place. They transform the familiar, yet the feeling remains.

Tanja Smeets develops organic structures in her sculptures that can permeate both through the inside and the outside of walls, infiltrating the skin of architecture.

Fransje Killaars is a remarkable colorist that approaches her medium—textiles—in challenging and innovative ways that are as much cultural statements as they are vigorously conceptual. And she places color at the center of her practice, production, and viewer’s experience.
