About the film
In “NIGHT” a small but arguably racist and inconsiderate gesture changes the relationship between women from different backgrounds. The film shows that micro-aggressions which people might not think of as racist can still hurt others, making people think twice about their seemingly harmless actions.
The film premiered at the Sarasota Film Festival and was selected for multiple nationwide festivals, including the Oscar qualifying Nashville Film Festival. NIGHT won several awards at the Trinity Film Festival in Connecticut and CineYouth Chicago International Film Festival.
About Joosje Duk
Joosje Duk is a Dutch filmmaker and actress. She wrote and directed the award-winning short film NIGHTstarring Rachel Hilson (KINGS) and Genelva Krind (HOE DUUR WAS DE SUIKER). In 2012, when Joosje was seventeen, she moved to New York to study Acting, Screenwriting & Journalism at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
