Dutch harpist Lavinia Meijer and American violist Nadia Sirota are ‘ Shaping the Future’ and performing at Public Records and the Dumbarton Oaks Music Room next March 31-April 3. Lavinia and Nadia are two of contemporary music’s most sought after instrumentalists, inspiring solo and chamber works from acclaimed composers. The duo guides listeners through a program of solos and duets by Philip Glass, Caroline Shaw, Marcos Balter, Ellen Reid, Ellis Ludwig-Leone, Nico Muhly, and Lavinia Meijer herself, along with stories and anecdotes from their prolific careers.

Nadia Sirota is a violist, conductor, and Peabody Award-winning producer and broadcaster. Nadia’s singular sound and expressive execution have served as muse to dozens of composers and in all branches of her artistic life, she aims to open classical music up to a broader audience.
