Li Edelkoort seminar Talking Textiles

May 13 – An inspiring and educational half-day seminar to talk about textiles for the coming seasons hosted by Li Edelkoort in the Parsons School of Design.

Wed, May 13 - Wed, Dec 31  1969

An inspiring and educational day seminar to talk about textiles: trends, fabrics, yarns and techniques for the coming seasons hosted by Li Edelkoort and Philip Fimmano in the Parsons School of Design on May 13.

Since 2011, TALKING TEXTILES is an initiative by trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort and design curator Philip Fimmano that promotes creative textiles. Exhibitions and seminars bring attention to the plight of the endangered textile industry, educating professionals and consumers alike about the importance of fabrics in contemporary culture. This year, TALKING TEXTILES is coming to WantedDesign with an exhibition at Industry City Brooklyn that features 10 finalists from the program’s new textile design prize. Displaying textures and concepts that innovate our perceptions of material, the TALKING TEXTILES installation will offer visitors a visually-tactile experience of innovative fabrics! (On show: May 9 – 19).

As part of the program, an inaugural and educational half-day TALKING TEXTILES seminar will take place in Manhattan on May 13; to talk more about fashion and home textile trends, fabrics, yarns and techniques ($150 p.p. / FREE for students, tickets: www.edelkoortinc.com).
