Pauline van Dongen and We Share Solar Founder Matthijs Olieman are two of the tech disruptors who will be presenting at the Northside Festival during Dutch Pitch Session on Thursday, June 12 at 6PM. Pauline van Dongen was a finalist at the SXSW 2014 Accelerator program.
We Share Solar is a crowd funding platform for collective solar-energy initiatives.
We Share Solar supports many local renewable-energy initiatives with the realization of projects by taking care of financing, contracting, administration and management. Together with the thousands of initiatives around the world we can create a solar energy revolution.
Groups of citizens are gathering to organize local energy projects to create ‘power to the people’. However, the complexity of financing, energy market and legal structures result in a delay and cancellation of projects. This is unfortunate, because there is so much enthusiasm and engagement with the citizens and companies to create a successful project. We Share Solar offers a solution for these 3 issues so the initiatives can focus on marketing and developing the project itself.
Pauline van Dongen researches the body in a technologically textured space. Pauline aims to merge fashion and technology giving life to scientific creations, such as wearable solar, a dress with integrated solar panels.
Wearable Solar became a finalist at South by Southwest Accelerator 2014! In the 6 years of Accelerator’s history only 4 Dutch companies have been selected to participate in SXSW Accelerator so far. Wearable solar was chosen out of 500+ entries together with 7 other selected candidates in the ‘Wearable Technology’ category. After giving a pitch presentation on the 8th of March, Wearable Solar was chosen as one of the three finalists of the renowned award show!
