Meeting with the Young Collectors Circle

On March 9, the Young Collectors Circle visited the Dutch Consulate General in New York

Fri, Mar 9 - Fri, Mar 9  2018

On March 9, fifteen members of the Dutch Young Collectors Circle visited the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in New York to learn more about the way our cultural department promotes Dutch art and culture across the United States. With a full program during New York City’s Armory Show, they were also introduced to the Dutch design of our offices and the photography collection that was selected when we moved to the Chrysler East Building in 2012.

About the Young Collectors Circle

Young Collectors Circle is a platform for emerging art collectors. To find out what makes your heart tick, to explore different art forms, to find out how art is priced, and to figure out what all those technical terms mean, the Young Collectors Circle organizes salons and events specifically aimed at art lovers with collecting ambitions.

But buying art is something that’s bigger than the collector and the empty wall over his or her couch. Private art collectors start buying from young artists long before they’re recognized by the big institutions. The art scene needs a new generation of collectors in order to maintain a vital art scene: not just by investing it in financially, but also by creating interest in new artists and art forms. Changing the art world one artwork at a time!
