For the 3rd year, Foam returns to Red Hook Labs in Brooklyn, New York to present Foam Talent; a group exhibition bringing together a new generation of international artists. This exhibit will run from March 22nd until April 10th. The 2019 group includes Dutch photographer Jaya Pelupessy, whose work has been published in Foam Magazine, Volkskrant and The New York Times.
Each year, Foam invites photographers to submit their portfolios via the Talent Call, an international search for exceptionally talented young photographers. Selected photographers gain international exposure and recognition within the photography industry through a number of career-building opportunities offered by Foam, including publication in Foam Magazine, participation in a travelling group exhibition. and the opportunity for their work to be added to the prestigious Art Collection Deutsche Börse of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation in Frankfurt, funding partner of the program.
Foam is an internationally operating organization in the field of photography, based in the centre of Amsterdam. Foam informs and inspires the widest possible audience by organizing a range of activities, varying from exhibitions to publications, debates and educational projects. Foam discovers, develops, defines, publishes and stimulates. In this process, scouting and presenting young, emerging talent is one of the distinguishing qualities. Many activities happen within the museum in Amsterdam, but for specific projects, Foam will also approach an international audience.
Red Hook Labs is a public-benefit corporation located in Red Hook, Brooklyn which establishes arts education in public schools and community centers, provides accelerated skills training on its premises, and connects teens and young adults to internships and job opportunities in the creative industries. Labs is comprised of: Studios, Gallery and School. Each combine to make a truly dynamic and diverse space where the most talented emerging artists, alongside the most acclaimed, go to work, create, exhibit, teach, learn, collaborate, celebrate, employ and be employed.
