This May, the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum invites visitors to experience Pinkster, a historic Dutch and African American spring celebration, through two events that honor the cultural heritage of New York’s colonial past.

The 2nd Annual Pinkster Stroll
Saturday, May 31, 2025 | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Join the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum for the second annual Pinkster Stroll, a full-day immersive experience that explores themes of resilience, freedom, and joy. Through a guided walk beginning at the African Burial Ground and concluding at the Dyckman Farmhouse, participants will explore the enduring legacy of Pinkster as an African celebration during Dutch colonial rule. The stroll includes site-specific performances, storytelling, and opportunities to reflect on the cultural intersections of Dutch and African heritage in New York.

Pinkster Celebration
Saturday, May 31, 2025 | 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
After the stroll, the celebration continues at the Dyckman Farmhouse with live music, dance, crafts, storytelling, and family-friendly activities. The afternoon honors the history of Pinkster and highlights its evolution over the centuries as a space for community, creativity, and cultural exchange. Guests of all ages are welcome to participate in this free event that blends education with celebration.
