There’s hardly any other artist who comes so close to David Bowie as Sven Ratzke. In his brand new show “Where are we Now”, Ratzke dives into the universe of the legend. Reimagining and rearranging the songs in his own style, pared down in an intimate setting with just Ratzke and his virtuoso pianist Christian Pabst. Ratzke makes them his own, revealing their purity and beauty, transcending the big Bowie themes in an evening that is soulful, surprising and highly entertaining. Sven Ratzke arrives to NYC after capturing the hearts of audiences in Berlin, Amsterdam and London .

Sven Ratzke is that rare thing: a cabaret superstar. He has appeared at many prestigious venues around the world including Lincoln Center, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Bertolt Brecht’s Berliner Ensemble in Berlin, the Sydney Opera House and Arts Center Melbourne. Ratzke’s most recent show, Homme Fatale, toured internationally to critical acclaim. His show Starman, which featured the music of David Bowie, was a smash hit at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival (winner best festival show), toured around the globe and was nominated for the Australian Helpmann Award. Ratzke starred as Hedwig in the Dutch/German production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and was hailed by the show’s creator, John Cameron Mitchell, as “the best Hedwig I’ve ever seen!” Ratzke has worked with many legendary performers and orchestras including Nina Hagen, Fassbinder muse Hanna Schygulla, Grammy-nominated opera singer Claron McFadden, Dutch singer Ellen ten Damme, cult band The Tiger Lillies and NYC icons Justin Vivian Bond and Joey Arias.  Ratzke writes also for dutch newspapers and had his own music/talk show for German tv ARD.
