TEFAF New York Spring 2019 – Designed by Tom Postma Design

TEFAF New York Spring 2017

Fri, May 3 - Tue, May 7  2019

Park Avenue Armory - New York Consulate Region

_A_s the world’s most buoyant art market, New York City provides the ideal context for a TEFAF Fair outside Maastricht. Held at the historic Park Avenue Armory, it provides the world’s leading art dealers the opportunity to meet with curators and collectors at a prime Manhattan location. Its timing in early May is also deliberate: to coincide with the other fairs, auctions and exhibitions dedicated to modern and contemporary art and design held in New York at the same time.

The long-standing collaboration between TEFAF and Tom Postma Design started a new chapter in 2017 with the arrival of two art fairs in New York – TEFAF New York Spring and TEFAF New York Fall. The startling transformation of the historic Park Avenue Armory from dark to light, created by Tom Postma Design for TEFAF New York Fall 2016 through the construction of a second skin, again provides the perfect backdrop for TEFAF’s modern and contemporary art fair. With the introduction of two new colors in the corridors and on the floor of the historical front building, Tom Postma Design has again created a modern look and feel that is in line with the unique and high quality TEFAF atmosphere.

About Tom Postma

Tom Postma Design is an Amsterdam based international leading architecture and design practice, founded in 1988 by Dutch artist Tom Postma, specializing in designing high-end temporary and permanent interiors for cultural institutions, art fairs, events, art and design related exhibitions, galleries, shops, and private residences. Tom Postma Design is renowned for its contemporary design style with each design resulting from the starting point that the architecture should never compete with the art. Postma made longstanding designs for venerable art fairs, such as TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and more recently, TEFAF New York Spring and Fall in 2016, 2017, and 2018, Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Basel Hong Kong. He also works with various international galleries and with the Rijksmuseum.
