The Voice Company & Cantate Choir To Perform In New York

Two Dutch choirs will perform in New York, The Voice Company and Cantate Choir. The Voice Company (April 3) will be a part of the group performance ‘Calling All Dawns’ at Lincoln Center, while Cantate Choir (April 17) will participate in the 20th Anniversary Performance of Martin Palmeri’s Misa A Buenos Aires (Misatango) on the DCINY Concert Series in Carnegie Hall, New York City.

About The Voice Company

The Voice Company is an easy-accessible choir that works on a project-base that mostly durates no longer than ten weeks. The projects close with several concerts. During its sixteen-years-existence, performances have been given of (a.o.) Matthew Passion (Bach) The Armed Man, Stabat Mater, The Peacemakers (Jenkins) Misa Criolla (Ramirez) [also in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam] Jesus Christ Superstar (Lloyd Webber) Abba, Beatles and Queen In 2014 the choir performed successfully in the world famous Carnegie Hall.

About Robert Bakker

Robert Bakker (1957) studied Recorder, Piano and Music-Education at the Amsterdam Conservatory in The Netherlands. He also trained for choir- and orchestra direction. Since 1980 he weekly directs several choirs among which his own “Voice Company”, which is sheer entertainment, according to The Voice Company choir.

About Cantate Choir Wageningen

Cantate Choir Wageningen is a choir normally conducted by Marjon van der Linden. They collaborated with het Gelders Orkest, Barokorkest La Prunelle, the Arnhems Begeleidingsensemble and the Gouds Begeleidingsensemble. For professional, big concerts they have contracted professonial singers several times.

Cantatekoor Wageningen received this invitation because of the quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated by the singers and the high quality of their audition recording. About Composer Martin Palmeri

Martin Palmeri is a composer, pianist, choirmaster and orchestra conductor. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1965. He studied composition with Daniel Montes, Marcelo Chevalier, Rodolfo Mederos, Virtú Maragno and Edgar Grana (New York), choral direction with Antonio Russo and Néstor Zadoff, orchestral conducting with Mario Benzecry, singing with Amalia Estévez and José Crea, and piano with Eduardo Páez and Orlando Trípodi. As choral director, he has led the Choir of the Faculty of Law (UBA), the Polyphonic Town Choir of Vicente López, Vocal Sospir, the Colegio Esclavas del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús de Belgrano (College of the Slaves of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Belgrano), the Escuela Argentina Modelo (Argentina Modelo School), the Music School of Buenos Aires, Vocal del Quartier (Paraná) (local singing group of Paraná).
