Inspired by the exhibition Van Gogh’s Cypresses, kids between the ages 12-14 can explore how artists depict the natural world in their paintings and drawings. From landscape elements like trees and clouds, to artistic techniques like texture and color, the kids are invited to make their own artistic creations. Each day, a different theme is explored:
Monday, July 10: Landscape
Tuesday, July 11: Texture
Wednesday, July 12: Plein-Air Painting (painting outdoors in Central Park; weather permitting)
Thursday, July 13: Color
Friday, July 14: Clouds and Skyscapes

Young people between the ages of 15-18 can grow artistic skills by joining the 150-year-old practice of copying artworks at The Met. In this week-long intensive, they can practice art techniques by copying Van Gogh’s painting and drawing style.
