Parenthesis Project

In this period of technological revolution where our lives are becoming more and more stressful due to the anxiety accumulated in our bodies and our minds, our aim is to invite people experience stillness, awareness, quietness and peacefulness at the most crowded and noisiest public plaza in the world.

Parenthesis (where people (re)-connect) is the moment and the space to connect with our inner world, to feel our presence, to feel creative and to dream.

We started analyzing the daily body postures of human beings. Our working and living environments are changing as our necessities evolve, but somehow the furniture hasn’t changed that much in terms of functionality (aesthetically we can see some new models by famous designers at all design fairs like Salone del mobile in Milan).

We are willing to explore and discover new body postures. We are conscious on the impact of body positions on people’s physical and mental health. On the first prototype, we are presenting a new verb. It is not reclining, it is not lying down, but it is re-lying. Re-lying is beneficial for our respiratory, digestive and circulatory systems. Re-lying reduces the pressure on the lumbar discs, reduces your heart rate, improves your breathing and basically, reduces our anxiety.

The creation of a new perspective, from where we can observe new details. The circular disposition of our installation as a sign of love, peace and unity between human beings. Seven furniture pieces, in honour to seven chakras in our body. The vision of zU-studio is to implement this concept in airports, museums, schools, office spaces and public spaces from all over the world.
